Saludos Gorka and Ainara,
You should buy a lottery ticket before your luck runs out: arriving to Banos in time for erruption and getting out alive :) The pictures are amazing! When we were there, the volcano was giving just a little smoke...
We'll stay in Asuncion till Monday waiting for the guy who promised to buy the Nissan. If the buyer changes his mind, we'll have to leave the country somehow evading police who are already looking for us (yes, just two days in the country and we have managed to upset the authorities :)
Have a safe flight home! Besos y abrazos.

Buenas niños,

Our last day in S.America, we are taking our flight today on the afternoon.

Ecuador has been quite nice. Some great experiences. I am sending to b4ziki some volcano photos.

We were spending the day at Baños on the volcano side and the hole town was forced to evacuate in the middle of the night. F#kng scary as ashes and small pieces of incandescent lava were falling on the town.

But the day we expent taking pictures and looking at the explosions was one of the most amazing things we would ever have the oportumity to do.

Peru was fantastic, we loved Arequipa and of course all the ruins around Cuzco.

What are your plans now? if possible selling the Pathfinder and fliying back home? No Brasil and no Cuba?

cheers

rimwis on August 26, 2006

Su pergale, italai padaryti. :) Daug nervu kainavo rungtynes, ypac pabaiga...

Beje, po Paragvaju sklinda kalbos, kad griezciausiai reikalaujantieji musu skubaus sugrizimo patys turi labai prastu planu (ilgam??) isvykti is Lietuvos. I Kanada, pavydziui..... arba i USA..... Kol kas vardu neminesim, paliekam jums siek tiek laiko nusikelti skrydziu datas i tolimesne ateiti. Be to, kodel norite skristi dabar, kada sitokia problematiska tvarka visuose oro uostuose?? Pabukite Lietuvoj, palaukite ramesniu laiku, sulauksite tuo paciu ir sveciu :)

Jurka on August 25, 2006

Na chebra, jus cia rimtai? Su zuvu humoro jausmu man visuomet sunku :) Cia atseit juokinga, kad minios ispudziu ir jusu bendravimo isalkusiu zmoniu palike darbus, seimas (tik ne krepsini) sedi Vilniaus, Kauno ir Palangos oro uostuose - juk bet kada gali Z. ir Dovi islipti is bet kurio lektuvo... Home cooked meals jau spejo atsalti... Musu sirdys sruva krauju su kiekvienu Nissan rato apsisukimu... Kiekvienas genelis kala i Lietuvos medelius "dar ne, dar ne, dar ne..." Cia JUOKINGA?! As apsiverkiau vien tik rasydama...

Hola Pedro e Milena,
we kind of decided that Brasil deserved the whole separate trip (some time in the near future), but if we cannot sell our car in Paraguay, we´ll be "forced" to visit your country :) Thanks for the invitation!

Z on August 24, 2006

It is not like we continue travelling by our free will… Actually we would really like to finish and go back to Lithuania for some good home cooked meals, but we can not get rid of the car. It does not break, so we can not justify simply abandoning it. In most countries laws do not allow to sell it, and in Paraguay, the only country permitting import of used cars, nobody wants to buy our Nissan because it consumes a lot of expensive gasoline... We saw at least 10 used car dealers today! If we agreed to pay for the fuel (as Jerry suggested) somebody would have accepted it as a gift :) Now we see only two options: sell it by parts (a cruel thing to do to a faithful friend) or drive till it falls to pieces, which means at least 200000 miles more. Anyone interested in puchasing the unstopable Pathfider and driving it back up to the USA??? :))

Dovi on August 24, 2006

Mes Paragvajuje labai aktyviai dziaugiames del lietuviu pergaliu, net naktim miegot negalim, nes labai keistu laiku rodo cia rungtynes! Pries italus reikia butinai laimeti - cia principo reikalas!!

Dabar atsakysime i paskutiniu metu visus rekordus virsijusi klausima "kada laukti Lietuvoj". Kol kas to dar nezinome :) Bet jau greitai.

It is hard to believe that you did 24k miles to NOWHERE> Maybe if you continue NORTH, I may see you at XMAS !!! How much are you selling your CAR for ?? You might want to pay someone to takeit from you.
Stay well, happy and sober
